There is never a dull moment at Epcot, where it seems that as soon as one wonderful festival ends, another begins! One of our favorite times to visit Walt Disney World is during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.
The Epcot International Festival of the Holidays is a new celebration for 2017 and it blends the ideas from Epcot’s past Holidays Around the World with the newer festivals that include food kiosks and seasonal traditions from different parts of the globe.
As you enter Epcot’s main gate, Mickey, Minnie, Thumper and Flower topiaries greet you.
Stitch is also around, making trouble with some Christmas lights…
It is hard not to feel festive with all of the wonderful decorations that fill the entire park.
Be sure to check your park map and times guides so you don’t miss a moment of fun entertainment as your day unfolds.
As we make our way into the France pavilion, Belle may just be there to say “hello” – and she is decked out in her holiday dress! So pretty!
France looks even more special with these enormous Christmas ornament dioramas…
These whimsical scenes depict the Eiffel Tower…
the Arc de Triomphe…
and scrumptious French holiday pastries like Buche de Noel (a cake shaped like a Yule Log).
We love the storytellers who teach guests about the holiday traditions from the different counties. It is so much fun to wander from pavilion to pavilion and caching these shows. Be sure to check your times guides so you see as many as possible. In France, Pere Noel (Father Christmas) tells stories that enthrall children and adults.
The new festival brings the very popular holiday kitchens to the country pavilions. In France, you will find the Alsace Holiday Kitchen – where you can sample a few seasonal dishes.
Our favorite treat was the Holiday Kir (sparkling wine with cranberry syrup). Cheers!
We could spend all day here in the France pavilion! But there is more to see… and we will visit the UK and Canada in the next post.
