Every Disney resort is special and has it’s own unique theme and ambience, so it can be difficult to choose where to stay for your vacation. For fans of Disney’s animated films, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is definitely a fun place to have as your “home away from home” during your trip.
The courtyards that surround every themed section of the resort are amazingly detailed. If you are staying in the Cars section, your walk to your room feels like a trip through Radiator Springs.
You even get to meet some familiar friends along the way.
Don’t forget to say “hi” to Mater!
The Cozy Cone Motel is the home of the Cozy Cone Pool, one of the smaller pools on the property.
One great feature about this swimming pool are the orange cone cabanas. These cabanas are available for no extra charge, so they are a wonderful option for families who want a bit of shade in between dips in the pool.
Sarge keeps watch over the laundry facilities.
Lightning McQueen and Sally together at the Wheel Well Motel make for a great photo op.
Inside the Cars Family Suites you will find a family room with a double-size sleeper sofa…
Television, dresser drawers and hanging space…
Look at this cute “towel car”!
The suites have a small kitchenette with mini fridge, sink, coffee maker and microwave. This space is nice for heating up leftovers or making simple meals.
In the living area, there is a dining table and chairs – great during the day for meals and it is nice for kids to have space for coloring and playing. In the evening it can transform into a double bed! This murphy-style bed pulls down easily and is a great place to lay your head down for the night.
The bathroom off the living room has a full bathtub, toilet and sink.
The bedroom holds a queen-size bed …
… and another television.
The bathroom off the bedroom features a sink area with a lot of counter space and a large, comfortable shower (no tub).
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is a great place for families that need a little more space – the family suites sleep up to 6 people. Even if you don’t have that many in your family, it is always convenient to have two bathrooms, a kitchenette and two televisions for people who want to watch different shows – a little privacy is nice too!
The public areas are lovely, the Big Blue Pool is the largest pool on Walt Disney World property and the food court is very good. For more details and pictures of those areas, check out Part One of the Art of Animation posts.
